The Sundara Kanda is considered the heart and soul of the Ramayana, and is the only book named after a character — Hanuman himself (Sundara meaning "beautiful"). In Lanka, he searches for Sita and finds her in the Ashoka Vatika, guarded by Rakshasas. He reveals himself, delivers Rama's ring as proof, and assures Sita of her imminent rescue.
